Description |
This seminar is devoted to the study of tau- -> K_S pi- nu
decay with large statistics of about 351/fb collected by Belle.
I'd like to discuss following items:
* Motivation of the study of tau decays into the hadronic system with strangeness.
Why should we study this particular Ks pi nu decay mode first?
* Event selection strategy. Detection efficiency and corrections.
* The main sources of background, strategies to deal with it.
* Calculation of the branching fraction. Systematic uncertainties, weak points.
Comparison with the other experiments.
* Study of the KS pi invariant mass spectrum:
- KS pi mass spectra of the background processes. What are the problems?
- Taking into account the detector apparatus function.
- Theoretical description of the mass spectrum. Different parametrizations of the scalar
and vector formfactors.
- Precise measurement of the K* meson mass and width.
Some other studies with tau -> Ks pi nu sample, which will be done in the nearest future are briefly discussed.
