Breakout room #2: Estimating K-long Reconstruction Efficiency Using sPlot

Presented by Mr. Diptaparna BISWAS on 17 Nov 2020 from 14:20 to 16:00

Description

Klongs are identified by hit patterns in KLM, the outermost detector at the Belle II experiment. However some photons and other neutral hadrons can also give hits in KLM. We present here a statistical technique using sPlot, to distinguish between hits pattern in KLM from K-longs vs other backgrounds directly from data. This technique allows one to make a robust determination of K-long reconstruction efficiency in the KLM detector.
